FAIR MANAGER, JIM WOLCOTT

Jim Wolcott became the fair manager after being in the restaurant franchise business for over 30 years. He took part in the ownership and operation of Burger King, TCBY and a local Susanville restaurant called Apple Peddler. “I wanted to become the fair manager so that I could give back to the community that has treated me so well in the past. I believe that this facility is not 'our fair,' it is 'the community’s fair,' by this I mean that it takes a strong community working together to make a successful fair.”

Jim has been an active member of the Lassen community as a member of the Evangelical Free Church. As a local businessman he has given several donations to local organizations and participated in many community service events.  Jim enjoys fly fishing, spending time with his family and his grandchildren.  He has been married for over 36 years to his wife Linda and is the proud father of two sons and six grandchildren. Those of us that know him, and work with him day in and day out know him as " The Tasmanian Devil."

Quin Zaengle, Administrative Assistant

Congratulations to Quin for recently obtaining a job at Sierra Cascade Nursery, Inc. as an Assistant Sales Coordinator and Agricultural Records Keeper. Her caring, thoughtful, and easy going personality will be greatly missed. The office will never be the same without her.

Temporary Staff

Every year the Fair hires a group of seasonal workers. We are lucky to have many of them return every year! We hire seasonally because it is our craziest time of year. Some might say that it is torture, but we like to think that Fair Time is Fun Time! If you would like to become part of our Fair Time team, click here to get a county application, fill it out, and bring it by the Fair Office. We begin to hire seasonal workers around March or April. Both office and maintenance positions are usually available.

Honorable Mention

Mike and Kathy Justice are often mistaken as staff because they spend numerous hours at the Lassen County Fair working on the grounds' flower beds, pots and landscaping. They are not employees, but they are part of the Fair Family and they donate their time and put their hearts and souls into making the Lassen County Fair a beautiful place for the community to enjoy. If you see them on the grounds, make sure that you stop and say "Thank you for all of your hard work!"
